“What can we do for each other?
We want this little slice of the web to be a resource for NYC Theatre Companies where we can all work together toward the same goal of having fun doing quality theatre.
This cooperative was first conceived by Alexis Hadsall of TheatreRats. She found a need within the Off-Off Broadway theatre community to have just that – a community. She spoke to Point of You Productions about this idea and they embraced it.
Armed with their enthusiasm, the two companies set out to create this blog and recruit other great companies to join them in working together to share resources, insights, vent about issues and help to creatively solve problems as a team. We can help each other out on an as-needed basis with techs or publicity – whatever anyone needs!
Together and with minimal effort, we can be an incredibly strong force to be reckoned with. We can create quality theatre and demand that we receive proper professional treatment from our vendors. Just because our budgets are small does not mean that we should settle for less.
